Motorola’s ‘slim’ brigade

Finally, Motorola’s ‘slim’ brigade is under attack, and this time from i-mate. The Dubai-based i-mate, famous for its large-sized handhelds, has tried to marry a slim handset to a business tool. The result is the slinky SPL, which runs on the Windows Mobile 5.0 smartphone platform.

Integrated i-mate;

The most versatile feature of the SPL is the backward integration into the i-mate suite of offerings like the I-view, Backup and Control options. Via the I-view, a user can have the benefit of securely accessing his entire data and files at any point during the day or night, irrespective of the location. And if you feel that the expandable memory storage on the phone is still short for your requirements, then additional data can also be stored on the I-view suite, thereby enhancing your phone’s efficiency.

Similarly, the Backup function allows you to have an automatic copy of your of your entire data in a separate location other than the handset. So, in an unfortunate scenario where you lose the phone, a data replica already exists that can be seamlessly transferred to a new handset.

Remote troubleshooting is easily done through the Control functionality. This feature has the capability to remotely wipe out sensitive data on the phone and the storage card in ase the handset falls into the wrong hands. Well, all this sure makes me greedy and I wish it also had Wi-Fi.
