ZigBee based home automation
With the help of ZigBee module one can implement a wireless sensor network for home automation. It consists of a PIC controller as the central processing unit. The signals sensed by the ZigBee receiver unit are given, through the PIC controller, to the relay circuit inturn, allows various controlling actions to take place.
The working of sensor follows:
Light sensor Network-When day light falls on the light sensor, the ZigBee transmitter unit transmits daylight signals to the ZigBee receiver unit. The received signals are fed to the controller unit, which, in turn, switches off all the lights of the house via the relay circuit.
Smoke Sensor Network – When smoke or fire is sensed by the sensor, the controller unit activates the alarm circuit.
Temperature Sensor Network- The temperature sensor senses the temperature of the room. If the temperature goes above the preset value, the controller unit drives the relays to switch on the fans/AC. When the temperature falls below the preset value, the fans/AC turn off.
Display Unit- All the activities that are taking place with ZigBee device, sensors and controller are shown on LCD panel.
